Maryland Selects HSR for GeoSpatial Tech

HSR Selected for its GeoSpatial SaaS Offerings by the State of Maryland Selection recognizes HSR’s growing role in bringing Geospatial technology to healthcare

June 20, 2018, Rockville, MD – Health Solutions Research, Inc. (HSR) has been selected by the State of Maryland as a GIS vendor on the State’s newly issued Geographic Information System Software-as-a-Service (GIS SaaS) Master contract. The Master contract was approved by the Board of Public Works on June 20, 2018.

GIS Software-as-a-Service Contract

HSR is the only Maryland-based company who is approved for services in each of the contract’s three (3) functional areas. The three (3) functional areas in this GIS SaaS Master Contract are:

• SaaS GIS and open data cloud services, • SaaS GIS data services/subscriptions, and • SaaS training and support

This contract is available for Maryland counties and municipalities to use as well as all other organizations who can purchase off of Maryland state contracts.

HSR’s Role in the GeoSpatial Industry

HSR has been selected for our home-grown Geospatial data analytic platform, called the GeoAnalytic Dashboard, that is perfectly suited for SaaS applications. The GeoAnalytic Dashboard can also be deployed onsite for organizations who wish to conduct their own geospatial analytics.

Our focus area is in healthcare; however, the GeoAnalytic Dashboard has wide applicability to other industries and applications as varied as transportation, smart cities, earth sciences, disaster response, utilities, and even law enforcement.

HSR is also well positioned in the global geospatial industry through its involvement with the Open Geospatial Consortium(OGC), the international standards setting body for the geospatial technology. The Executive Director for Innovation for the OGC, Luis E Bermudez, PhD, is a member of our Board. In addition, our CEO, Ajay K Gupta, is the chair of the OGC’s Health Domain Working Group (DWG). The role of the Health DWG is to spur innovation in geospatial health data analytics through developing projects for industry-wide collaboration that will demonstrate benefits to the healthcare vertical. Ideation on such projects is currently underway and will be announced at the OGC’s next Technical Committee meeting in Stuttgart, Germany in September 2018.
