Dr. Ram Peruvemba is the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of HSR.health, a global leader in health focused geospatial analytics to deliver better healthcare outcomes while lowering costs. He is a transformational leader and a leading authority in Health Information Technology as well as in the clinical, regulatory, and policy issues shaping the delivery of healthcare.

 

A certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician, Ram has served as Vice Chairman of the board for the largest anesthesia provider in Maryland and led them through a $100 million private equity transaction that helped elevate his group onto a national platform. Ram has served on the advisory boards of QSSI corp, a Health IT firm involved in the construction of Healthcare.gov and ultimately sold to Optum, as well as Welldoc, a digital health leader that developed the first and only FDA-approved digital health solution for the management of diabetes. 

 

Dr. Peruvemba is a leader in shaping health policy in Maryland and around the country. Through his role on the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commissions Advisory Council, he was instrumental in the development and implementation of the unique value-based hospital payment system, the Total Cost of Care Model, in conjunction with CMS and CMMI. Dr. Peruvemba currently serves on the board of the Maryland State Medical Society, MedChi, as Chairman of the Medical Policy Council, and is the President of the Maryland Society of Anesthesiologists.

 

Dr. Peruvemba has received numerous awards for his contributions. In 2021, he was named a 2021 Top 100 Healthcare Innovator for his leadership in HSR.health's efforts supporting COVID-19 pandemic response globally. In 2017, he was recognized by MedChi, the State Medical Society, with the 2017 Distinguished Council Chair Award for his outstanding dedication of time and talents on behalf of Maryland’s physicians, their patients, and the public health. Dr. Peruvemba has also been recognized as a Top Doctor in Washington DC for Anesthesiology and Pain Management for the past twelve consecutive years.

 

When Dr. Peruvemba is not helping to solve population health challenges, he is an avid golfer and passionate guitarist covering his favorite hit songs from the Eagles, Rush, and Van Halen.
