A Great Sports Weekend

This weekend is one of the best weekends in the sports calendar. We get College Basketball’s Final Four and Opening Day of Major League Baseball’s marathon season!

March Madness

And this year looks to be truly special – The Men’s Championship game comes down to two Number 1’s in a true East vs West match up – North Carolina vs Gonzaga. But the biggest basketball story of the weekend may be the UConn Women losing a game on a last second shot in Overtime – after 111 wins! (Congratulations Morgan Williams!)

In Baseball, the season starts, of course, when the New York Yankees take the field! Also playing on Opening Day are the Defending World Champion Chicago Cubs. (How long has it been since those words were used together in a sentence!)

2nd Annual HSR Charity Golf Tournament

As we enjoy these sporting events, let’s remember that the 2nd Annual HSR Charity Golf Tournament is just around the corner – Monday, May 8th at the Norbeck Country Club in Rockville, MD.

And, we are proud to share with you some exciting news out of Norbeck – the club has just been bought by ClubCorp.

ClubCorp is a leading owner-operator of private golf, business, country clubs, and even alumni clubs in North America. They also own the City Club of DC and Tower Club in Northern Virginia.

ClubCorp is making numerous improvements to Norbeck in time for our event – including a new pro shop, a new bag drop, and an expanded driving range. And, to top it off – ours will be the first Golf Tournament at Norbeck since its joined the ClubCorp family!

So, as you head out to the Ball Game, or witness the Madness Monday Night, remember to register your foursome for the 8th! See you on the Course.
